We're stepping away from X.

We’re stepping away from X.

Published: February 17, 2026

After careful consideration, PILS have decided to step away from X (formerly Twitter).

When we first joined Twitter in 2011, it was a space for us to connect with our membership community and raise awareness of the services that our new pilot project had to offer.

A place of conversation, solidarity and mutual support.

That platform is now a distant memory.

From 17/02/2026, PILS will no longer be posting on X. Our account will remain dormant, as a library of our previous work.

This decision has been driven by data and our core values as a human rights organisation.

Engagement metrics tell us that PILS’ posts are no longer being seen by our supporters in meaningful numbers.

This lack of any tangible benefit for our community, combined with the platform’s increasing toxicity and X’s dismal response to the use of its in-built AI tool to create non-consensual, sexualised deepfake images, has led to our decision to leave.

You can continue to follow our work in lots of ways.
