PILS European Pro Bono Week Seminar 2026
Justice is a team sport. For 15 years, PILS have connected human rights defenders with pro bono lawyers to build life-changing legal challenges.
We’re inviting more solicitors and barristers to join our ever-growing pro bono community.
Registration is open now.
Since 2011, PILS have coordinated our very own Pro Bono Register: a network of barristers, solicitors and legal academics who have agreed to provide pro bono legal assistance to PILS’ members. Our members range from community interest groups to law centres to well-known charities.
If you are a solicitor or barrister who is curious about engaging in pro bono work, the European Pro Bono Week Seminar 2026 is designed for you:
- This CPD-accredited seminar is open to all practising barristers and solicitors, whether or not you have already joined PILS’ Pro Bono Register.
- Keynote speaker Naga Kandiah (solicitor and 2025 LawWorks Pro Bono Awards winner) will share why access to justice is not an abstract principle and how pro bono practice is central to his professional identity.
- PILS’ Director/Solicitor Kate Barry will examine how pro bono has powered public interest litigation in Northern Ireland and outline how our Pro Bono Register operates in practice.
- Attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions and network; sandwiches, tea and coffee will be served.
The event is worth 1 CPD point and is organised to mark European Pro Bono Week 2026.
Places are limited. RSVP today.
