REGISTER NOW: NGO Legal Guides Launch

Event Date(s): September 21, 2022  | Time: 10:00am - 12:00pm
Event Type: In Person
Event Venue: The MAC, Belfast

Wednesday 21 September 2022

10am @ The MAC

Join The PILS Project and Arthur Cox Belfast at The MAC for the launch of five new legal information guides.

Designed specifically with human rights organisations in mind, the guides cover a wide range of legal tools that NGOs can use in their day-to-day work, including:

  1. Engaging with UN Special Procedures Mandate Holders
  2. Taking Individual Complaints to UN Treaty Bodies
  3. Individual Non-Court Mechanisms at European Level
  4. The ‘Amicus Curiae’ procedure
  5. Judicial Review

If your organisation is curious about using one (or more) of these processes, then join us at our NGO Legal Guides launch in Belfast on 21 September.

You’ll hear from fellow human rights NGOs who have used the processes in their own changemaking work.

There will be time to browse through the guides over a coffee and space to ask your burning questions.

Speakers include:

  • Committee on the Administration of Justice (CAJ)
  • Participation and the Practice of Rights (PPR)

The guides were created as part of a cross-border project between The PILS Project, PILA and Arthur Cox solicitors in both Belfast and Dublin. Staff from PILS and Arthur Cox will also be on hand to talk to you about the support available through the PILS Pro Bono Register.

This in-person event is open (free of charge) to members of The PILS Project.

Spaces are limited and pre-registration is required. Please RSVP to secure your place.
