Become a Solicitor Member

Solicitor firms who have an interest in and experience in public interest litigation can apply to become PILS members. Experience can mean any legal work on human rights and equality issues in Northern Ireland.

In order to be considered for membership by the PILS Project Board, please click here.

If a firm meets the criteria it will become a member and all solicitors at that firm can apply for casework support.

Please note that only PILS members can apply for support for public interest cases.

Firms are well placed to identify potential issues, have legal expertise others can learn from and increasingly face funding difficulties with legal aid reforms. The PILS Project therefore encourages solicitors to discuss potential cases with the PILS Project’s Project Manager where there are barriers to a public interest case proceeding.
